The Vagabonds is a growing international collective of burners who have organised theme camps at AfrikaBurn since 2019 and Borderland since 2022. In the default world, we are a diverse group of travelers, entrepreneurs, nomads, free spirits, creatives, and dreamers.
Initially inspired by the aesthetics of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag and his Vagabond robots, this once Nordic-centric community has since grown to over 200 members who come to meet from all corners of the world to connect, co-create, and co-live.
We gather in the dust and dirt to celebrate life beyond the edges of civilization; to recharge our batteries, sweat out our inner demons, and dance like the universe is watching.

I’m really excited about the possibility of joining Vagabonds at AfrikaBurn 2026. I love the idea of being part of a co‑created, international collective where people bring their creativity, enthusiasm, and good vibes together to build something meaningful and joyful in the dust. Your focus on connection, welcoming diversity, shared effort, and playful exploration really resonates with me.
I bring energy, good humor, and a strong commitment to collaboration, showing up fully before, during, and after the Burn with care and openness. I’m happy to contribute to planning, logistics, kitchen, design, shared camp duties, and any shifts needed, and I’m also down to help host and support experiences that foster connection and joy within the camp and beyond. I value spaces where culture, creativity, and community meet, and I’d love to add my time and energy to co‑create that with you.
