Vagabonds

The Vagabonds is a growing international collective of burners who have organised theme camps at AfrikaBurn since 2019 and Borderland since 2022. In the default world, we are a diverse group of travelers, entrepreneurs, nomads, free spirits, creatives, and dreamers. Initially inspired by the aesthetics of Swedish artist Simon StÃ¥lenhag and his Vagabond robots, this once Nordic-centric community has since grown to over 200 members who come to meet from all corners of the world to connect, co-create, and co-live. We gather in the dust and dirt to celebrate life beyond the edges of civilization; to recharge our batteries, sweat out our inner demons, and dance like the universe is watching.

Camp 404

Camp 404 will always be a place for the lost, whether it is weary burners who need a rest from the hustle and bustle, or real emergencies like people who are having troubles in their camp and need a place to stay (our shadow gift: The Orphanage). Our most fundamental goal is to provide a safe space for Burners where they can feel at home, comfortable, seen, accepted and provided for (brunch, snacks & water). Think radical hospitality for the body and soul. But we don’t simply seek to satisfy people’s basic needs, no, our mission is to help people suspend their disbelief and to share our idea of fun with the world. We’re a wacky bunch of misfits who love to indulge in nonsense and shenanigans. We welcome games, activities, tomfoolery, the bizarre and the hilarious. Camp 404 is not appropriate for children or for adults who don’t act like children. We are 404, the lost clutter of imagination. 404 is a place of confusion. Where are we? What’s going on? How did we get here? Why did we get here? It’s in this blanket fort of opportunity that we embrace the error codes of life and dive into all the lost expression, confused intention and deliberate alliteration that makes life interesting.

Le Petit Paris

Le Petit Paris : Tribute to the famous Cape Town bar called Le Petit Paris. Our project has been the same since the creation of this camp: share moments with human beings, offer gift, and to celebrate the sunset loaded with emotions, love and pleasure of the present time. Over the years, we have improved our Eiffel Tower, the organization of our camp, and our creative ideas.
