AfrikaBurn 2023: 24 to 30 April

Decompression is ON!

Together, we created an incredible Ephemeropolis in the dust – and now that the dust has settled, we gather to share our experiences at the Decompression. Just like Tankwa Town, our Decom is a blank canvas where you’re the artist and the performer, so set some of that costume, art and decor aside – and bring and come!
When: June 1st, 2pm – 2am
Where: Killarney Race Track, Cape Town
See the event page on Facebook here

WHAT’S IN STORE?
As always, our Decom is an experiment where, just like Tankwa Town, you create the performance, the art, the sound and the experience. It’s a space where you’re able to bring along the thing you love to do, and do it. Got a mutant vehicle? Bring it along! Got a bike? Pimp it, and enter the Art Bike Race! Got costume? Wear it – and tell your friends to do the same – and enter the Best Dressed Contest to win a ticket to AfrikaBurn 2020!
Sound stages? Live music? Food trucks? Artworks? Fire? DJ’s? Midnight toasted cheeses? Stay tuned – as all the pieces fall into place we’ll be announcing more, so look out for updates.
EXPECT:
– Bars
– Food trucks
– Coat check, Lost & Found
– Car guards around venue for safe parking
– A wild pageant consisting of Tankwa Town’s finest: you!
How does it work, and how can you get involved?
Got ideas, art, or an activity you want to add to the mix? Great – mail [email protected] to start chatting about how it can be plugged in.
VOLUNTEER!
Just like Tankwa Town, this event is co-created by all of us – and to make it happen takes a lot of hands on deck. So, if you have any skills and some time, you’re more than welcome to step up and help in organising the many aspects that will see this mad community carnival take shape.
If you’d like to step up, mail [email protected] and our team will field your interest and availability – or you can sign up directly for shifts right here.
We’re looking forward to seeing & connecting with you again!

Aren't Pop-up Messages Annoying?

Not as annoying as Viagogo and the other ticket tout companies that want to steal your hard-earned money.

If you're looking to buy AfrikaBurn tickets, please do not purchase from any website other than our Quicket Page.
