Box Office and Ticketing Lead needed!

We’re looking for a new Queen! As the Box Office and Ticketing Lead at AfrikaBurn, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of ticket sales and distribution, working alongside the Gate Lead to ensure the entry and exit procedures are in alignment with the organisational strategy. Reporting to the Operations Manager/EDO, you will oversee the event team and volunteers, driving efficiency and excellence at the Box Office and ticketing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Admin & Finance:

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity.
  • Manage ticketing provider contracts and platform integration.
  • Coordinate ticketing communications and social media presence.
  • Organise volunteers for gate shifts and track their activities.
  • Develop and manage the Gate & Ticketing budget, tracking expenditure.

Development:

  • Research and implement optimal ticketing platforms.
  • Design ticketing structures and strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT for seamless integration between platforms.
  • Develop and update Box Office Manual for operational guidance.
  • Ensure inclusivity through all Box Office activities and strategies. 
  • Work closely with the Gate portfolio to align on entry processes

Event Planning:

  • Coordinate Subsidised ticket applications and allocations.
  • Manage Directly Distributed Tickets.
  • Manage ticket sales inline with agreed numbers onsite, taking into consideration attrition and as such managing risk. 
  • Manage the Work Access Pass programme. (Early Access)
  • Manage Box Office procurement and team requirements.
  • Facilitate ticket and Box Office communications.
  • Conduct training sessions based on Box Office Manual.

Event Implementation:

  • Ensure setup and breakdown of Box Office and ticketing functions.
  • Maintain oversight of Box Office and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Participate in meetings to provide updates.

Event Wrap-up:

  • Conduct debrief sessions and allocate follow-up tasks.
  • Manage Box Office & Ticketing assets and conduct reconciliation.
  • Compile detailed Post Event Report.
