Sanctuary and Radical Self Reliance … How does that work?

True radical self-reliance comes with self-awareness, right? And self-awareness leads us to know what we need from others, right?

Sanctuary volunteering plays into our Leave (A BETTER) No Trace principle. You knew that, right? It’s not Leave NO Trace, it is Leave a BETTER Trace. Our Sanctuary guests leave us in a better place than when they arrive – they aim to help them feel connected, supported, loved and cared for. Often guests at Sanctuary come back to support others as they want to be a part of the magic unfolding; beautiful.

Decommodification is not just about taking the labels off! It is really about participating, rather than consuming our culture. Why not join the Sanctuary team to fully immerse yourself in volunteering and taking part, not watching?
You can play a part in making the magic happen, rather than visiting the burn as an observer or a tourist, right?
