Enos’ Nookie

Participants needed:
We are open to all creative and nerdy people who are looking to join a great and vibey community where they can get involved in or create art projects, production, decorations, lighting and light programming, musical curation, performances and what else tickles your mind… Join our camp! You want to gift a performance, concert or DJ set? Reach out to us!

Project Description:

Spacemonkey Enos crashed his rocket into the desert and decided to create his cozy safe-space (aka nookie) in the far corners of Tankwa Town. There he welcomes other cosmic travelers ever since. His guests can enjoy audio-visual experiences in a jungle of cosmic grooves in his safe, but wild place. Follow the landing lights towards the burning rocket and let your inner monkey loose at our eclectic jols powered by a wonderful sound system.

Our camp where we live and rest is located a few hundred meters away from our stage and is our private safe space where we eat and hang together, refresh ourselves and get our well deserved rest. The camp provides safe shelter, drinking water, collectively prepares a fresh warm meal daily, builds a shower, shares knowledge in event planning, building, stage production, light programming, sound engineering, awareness, vibe creation, burn principles and more.

Details of Gift:

Enos invites all burners to his wild but safe space to relax, vibe to our eclectic musical program, play in our sand mapping tent and discover the marvels of refracting light, enjoy a kinky Crêpe or shake your booty to the groove!

We love to play with lights and make our space pretty. Sound quality and well curated music is very dear to us. Our playground offers space and opportunities to be creative for all camp members and we are always open for new ideas!

Joining Requirements:

Be great, involved, open, vibey, curious, and most important: yourself. We all contribute together to create this camp, and the camp is all ours. Everybody takes shifts to make our spaces moop-free, safe, cozy, healthy and wild! We also create opportunities for locals to join the gang.

The Crossing

The Crossing consists of two groupings of elements. A rigid line cuts through the landscape, a boundary that may represent law, structure, or control. Intersecting this line are more organic forms that rise irregularly, as though shaped by wind, erosion, or time. The line may be read as a border or a threshold, a boundary between order and chaos, captivity and freedom, life and death. Movement unfolds across this divide. From one perspective, the passage across the line could represent departure or exile, figures leaving something familiar behind. From another, the same movement may suggest arrival, a transition toward possibility and renewal. The Crossing comes together through shared effort, people learning, experimenting, problem-solving, and physically constructing something at scale. It exists because of a community, for a short time, shaped by the desert and the people within it. As with many desert installations, the sculpture is intended to transform through fire. When it ultimately burns, the work completes its own crossing, shifting from structure into flame, light, and ash.

Switch Off to Switch On

Against the backdrop of intense global noise, we are bringing one of the largest artworks to AfrikaBurn: Switch Off to Switch On. A towering brain-shaped sanctuary designed to help people pause, reconnect, and return to the world with renewed clarity. Participants climb into the structure, enter a quiet interior space of light and sound, and descend via a DNA-inspired helix slide. The journey mirrors the experience many of us seek: stepping away from noise to rediscover our inner signal.

We’re a group of humans who care about: Making a warm, welcoming camp that isn’t plug-and-play. Sharing food, fire, art and play in a way that feels held and resourced. Looking after bees and each other – with real guardrails, not just vibes. 2026 is our second year at AfrikaBurn. We’re taking what worked in 2025 and making it a little cozier and a lot more intentional.
