We are actively seeking some fresh candidates to join our Board as Non-Executive Directors, for a three-year term. As an organisation rooted in collective growth, shared responsibility, and radical inclusion, we believe our leadership should reflect the vibrant diversity of our community.

It is preferred (but not always required) that candidates standing for election have been to the annual event in the Tankwa Karoo and have previous organisational board experience.

Given the make-up of the current board, we are seeking candidates with substantial experience of; environmental conservation and land stewardship, or non-profit fundraising, or information technology. It would also be beneficial if candidates are based in the Cape Town metropolitan district and/or have links to the Tankwa Karoo.

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet each of these preferences. We value diverse backgrounds and candidates who bring other valuable strengths to our organisation.

Non-Executive Directors volunteer approximately 20 hours per month, including a monthly evening meeting. It’s not just about sitting in meetings and approving budgets; it’s about helping AfrikaBurn navigate through the choppy waters and onto a brighter future.
