Tankwa Town is a Decommodified space, and all who come through the gate are encouraged to participate in both the work and the play.

Our Supplier Programme (which you will form part of, should your registration be successful) has been designed to facilitate Creative Projects to work with external suppliers in a way that aligns as far as possible with AfrikaBurn’s 11 Guiding Principles.

What does the AfrikaBurn Supplier Policy say?

No goods or services will be permitted to be supplied to personal or private camps.
Suppliers may only provide goods and services to registered creative projects (Theme Camps, Artworks and Mutant Vehicles possessing a Project Registration Code).
Participants using suppliers must always accompany any suppliers setting up on their behalf.
All deliveries will happen in the designated delivery zone of the Suppliers Depot. Participants must collect their goods from the depot and transport them to their camps or meet the delivery at the Supplier Depot and accompany them to the drop-off location.
Service providers cannot deliver camping equipment (E.g.: Dome tents, fridges, bedding, kitchen equipment, crockery & cutlery etc.) decor or lighting to Tankwa Town

Operating as a supplier within Tankwa Town is very different from normal business operations. AfrikaBurn is built on a strong ethos that specifically excludes paid labour within the event site.

All suppliers and their staff must read and understand the 11 Principles of AfrikaBurn to ensure alignment with this ethos. Failure to comply with the Supplier Policy may result in forfeiture of your deposit and disqualification from supplying or trading with participants at future events.

If your staff will be staying on site, you are responsible for ensuring they have adequate shelter, warmth, water, and food. All onsite suppliers are required to sign a Crew Welfare Agreement with AfrikaBurn.

Please note: there are no food stalls onsite, nothing is sold at the event and there are no nearby shops. Every participant is expected to be radically self-reliant. This means your staff will not be able to buy food onsite under any circumstances.

Sunday 26 April: 08h00 to 18h00

Monday 27 April to Sunday 3 May: Supplier Gate Closed

Supplier Gate will reopen Monday 4 May 2026.

You will need to purchase a supplier build access ticket for each crew member @ R1799.00

How many stand-by crew members will be remaining on site for the duration of the event (27 April - 3 May 2026)? *

You will need to apply for a supplier event access ticket @ R3099.00 for each of these crew members. This ticket type replaces the supplier build access ticket for standby crew.

As a registered supplier for AfrikaBurn 2026, you are required to submit an inventory of all goods you will be providing in Tankwa Town. This inventory will be used to validate whether your clients have a registered creative project.

The first draft of your inventory must be submitted by Tuesday, 1 April 2026, 17h00.

The final version must be submitted by Friday, 17 April 2026, 17h00.

A refundable deposit of R8,000 is payable upon registration. In addition, a 5% surcharge will be applied to your inventory. AfrikaBurn will invoice your company for this surcharge prior to the event, and payment must be received before you will be granted access to the site. You are expected to include this surcharge in your clients’ invoices and pass it on in full to AfrikaBurn.

Failure to pay the deposit and submit your inventory by the required deadlines will result in your company being denied access.

The AfrikaBurn Suppliers team will conduct a site visit to your premises for a briefing if you are based in Cape Town. For Suppliers located outside Cape Town, the briefing will take place online.

These briefings ensure that all Suppliers have the opportunity to learn about our event, our culture, and the principles that guide it. They also provide you, as the Supplier, with the chance to finalise your registration and ask any questions regarding the Supplier Registration process - helping to ensure a smooth entry into Tankwa Town.
