AfrikaBurn 2023: 24 to 30 April

AfrikaBurn Artefacts Exhibition

This year, for the first time, we’re planning an urban exhibition of the artefacts of AfrikaBurn. And we’d love you to be part of this exhibition. How?
Simple! Keep aside any interesting parts of your project – prototypes, bits that didn’t work, bits that fell off, bits that did work but you have one extra, bits that didn’t burn away, old parts, scrap parts, bits that broke, conceptual drawings, complicated calculations, one of your gifts … that sort of thing. There is magic in this flotsam and jetsam and we’d love the chance to see it and share it outside of Tankwa Town.
If you live in or near Cape Town, you can drop these bits off (in a clearly labelled box) at The Bijou, between Monday 13 May and Friday 17 May.
Any time after that, mail [email protected] to make arrangements.
If you are from further afield (like Jozi, KZN, Stuttgart, or Mars) you can still participate!
Post your goodies to us:
AfrikaBurn (Att: Sam), PO Box 191, Observatory, 7935
Or you could bring it/them to AfrikaBurn and hand over to us there – come to the Arteria at off Centre Camp, with your box of tricks. You can participate as deeply as you’d like. You can LEND us your artefact for the duration of the exhibition. You can donate your artefact permanently. And you can donate your artefact for a fundraising auction.
Just let us know on your box – please submit in a clearly labelled box or bag, which should be marked with:
– your project name
– the name of your collective
– your name and contact details
– whether it is a permanent donation, or a temporary loan for the exhibition
– whether it can be included in the fundraising auction
Thanks in advance to all who take up the offer to participate!

Aren't Pop-up Messages Annoying?

Not as annoying as Viagogo and the other ticket tout companies that want to steal your hard-earned money.

If you're looking to buy AfrikaBurn tickets, please do not purchase from any website other than our Quicket Page.
